The Rosenberg fellowship was established in 2015 to recognize outstanding achievement in research and scholarship during a student's first two years at the Sackler School.
The award provides approximately one-half stipend support for the student for one year. Each student also receives monies that may be spent in support of his or her education.
Sackler students who are enrolled in a PhD or MD/PhD program and are completing their second year of graduate work are eligible for the award.
Nominations are solicited in July for the coming academic year.
Each Program Director may submit two nominations each year. A nomination packet must include the following documents:
- A letter from the Program Director identifying the student's qualifications and describing the significance of the student's research (three pages or less)
- Copies of the student's thesis committee reports
- A copy of the qualifying examination evaluation (if available)
- A statement prepared by the student describing research goals and the potential significance of the research (one page)
An ad hoc committee reviews each nomination packet and the transcript of each nominee. The committee recommends the recipients to the Dean.
