Alan Kopin

What is the ultimate goal of your research?
My work seeks to extend the understanding of G protein-coupled receptor pharmacology and physiology. We also hope to develop modulators of GPCRs as potential therapeutics. Helping to train the next generation of scientists is also important.

What excites you about your research?
Problem solving, developing potential therapeutics, and working with collaborators who have complementary expertise excite me.

What do you like best about Sackler students?
They are bright, curious, friendly, interesting people.

What qualities distinguish the Sackler School from other graduate schools?
Sackler's extremely interactive and accessible faculty is a hallmark.

What do you do to relax?
I like to fish, bike ride, and get together with friends and family.

Helmand in Cambridge and Pigalle in Boston
