Welcome to an exciting new year at Sackler!
Sackler entrance

Dear Sackler Community,

Welcome to the start of a new academic year and a hearty welcome to our new students starting today. The conclusion of their orientation is our annual welcome reception for all students and faculty to kick-off the year together and to meet our new students. Please join us in the Jaharis Courtyard at 3:30 pm.

We have a number of events coming up as listed below. I’d like to highlight two. On Monday, September 16 from 11 am – noon, the GSC will host the annual club fair for students (new and old) to find out about all of our clubs and organizations, and to join those of interest. On Wednesday, September 18 we will host Lydia Villa-Komaroff as our kick-off speaker of the year. She will speak about implicit bias and how normal cognition can interfere with diversity efforts. Please plan on attending this insightful talk and discussion starting at 3 pm in the De Blois Auditorium. This event is meant for all members of the Sackler community (students, faculty and staff) to improve of workplace environment and promote inclusive excellence. More details regarding both events are below.

I look forward to seeing everyone at 3:30 in the Jaharis Courtyard.

Dan Volchok, Associate Dean
