As we reflect on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, help us make Sackler a welcoming place for everyone.

Dear Sackler Community,

I hope that you all had a thoughtful MLK day on Monday dedicated to service and enriching your communities. On Friday, the Microbiology program and department hosted a workshop on diversity led by OEO. This provided important dialog about creating a nurturing environment that celebrates our diversity. We all deserve to have a workplace that we find safe and welcoming and should issues arise that diminish this for anyone of us, we need to address it quickly and honestly together. I applaud the Microbiology community for doing this and it’s a great example to all of us. In this week that we commemorate a great American who did so much for this mission, I hope that you can each do your part to make us a welcoming and kind place that represents the best of who we are.

Dan Jay, Dean
