Sackler Faculty Recognized with Zucker Research Prizes

Congratulations to Sackler faculty members Rob Jackson, PhD (Neuroscience and Genetics) and Karen Freund, MD (CTS), recipients of this year's Zucker Research Prizes.

The recipients of this year's Zucker research prizes have been announced. These prizes are made possible by generous gifts from Milton Zucker, M30, and Natalie Zucker, and are awarded for a career of research excellence.

Rob Jackson, PhD, Professor of Neuroscience and member of the graduate programs in Genetics and Neuroscience was recognized with the Zucker Family Prize for his contributions to our understanding of glia-neuron interactions in the control of circadian behavior using a Drosophila model.

Karen Freund, MD, Professor Medicine and member of the CTS graduate program was recognized with the Milton O. and Natalie V. Zucker Prize for her work in women’s health, health care disparities and health equity, research that has had a strong focus on cancer.
