Biomedical engineer and Sackler faculty member (CMDB) David Kaplan discusses research he has led on the development of a long-lasting, silk-collagen composite human skin equivalent (HSE), which are used to test cosmetics or model healing wounds. The more durable silk-based HSE could allow for “longer-term studies of human skin responses.”
