Visiting Students

Student working in the lab

Visiting Students are students who are conducting research at the Sackler School while enrolled in another university. All students who are seeking a degree elsewhere based on research conducted in a laboratory affiliated with the Sackler School are required to be registered as a Visiting Student. All visiting students must comply with current state and university mandates regarding health insurance and immunization.

Note that Tufts cannot provide proof of current student status, verification of affiliation with the university, access to student health insurance, or any other benefits associated with student status to anyone from another university who has not been accepted as a Visiting Student.

Applications for Visiting Student status are processed through the same online portal all students apply through. Follow the instructions to create an account. When you begin creating your application, just select Non-Degree/Special Student as the type of degree, and "Visiting Student" as your program.

In order to complete the application, you will need to provide a transcript or certification from your home institution indicating that you are enrolled, and that you are in good standing. You will also need to provide a letter from your program, advisor, or school, indicating that you have permission to enroll as a Visiting Student.

Visiting Students must register for SK 0299, Biomedical Techniques & Research, each term they are at the Sackler School. There is no charge for this course.
