PREP Courses

PREP Scholars take several courses during their training. Some scholars stay for two years, allowing additional time for course work and research.

Year One Requirements

In the first year, each trainee will complete the Sackler School Responsible Conduct of Research course (Applied Ethics for Scientists) and the Basic Skills for Scientists, a course offered in six modules:

Basics Skills Modules

  • Creating short written and oral presentations
  • Reading the primary scientific literature
  • Poster Presentation
  • Data analysis
  • Preparing a research proposal
  • Preparing a short platform talk on your research project

Other courses

By the time a trainee complete PREP, you will have taken at least one graduate course. Examples of courses taken by trainees include:

  • Graduate Biochemistry
  • Neuroscience
  • Introduction to Immunology
  • Cell Biology
