Policies and Guidelines

Sackler Office

The Sackler School Student Handbook is published annually and contains information about academic requirements, student services, and university and school policies. The intent of the handbook is to provide students with the information they need to be successful during their time at Sackler. The handbook's five sections are described below. If you have questions about material contained in the handbook, please contact Associate Dean Kathryn Lange.

Section 1: Academic Standards & Policies

This section contains information about the degrees we offer and the requirements to obtain them as well as the important academic standing policy.

Section 2: Registration & Finances

This section lists the policies related to courses, registration, grading, billing, and financial aid.

Section 3: Student Services

In this section, students will find various topics they can use to help them obtain services and information they might want or need during their time at the Sackler School.  Look for information such as: weather emergency, health insurance, dental services, athletic facilities, libraries, information technology, child care, parking, security escort services, and graduation.

Section 4: Policies

The "rules of the road" are included in this section. Students will learn about polices and procedures they must follow. Look for information about topics such as the student stipend, laboratory rotations, attendance requirements, leaves of absence, vacation and sick benefits, scientific misconduct, equal opportunity, and disciplinary policies.

Section 5: Records & Privacy

Here is where students can find information about their FERPA Rights as well as what student information is available to the public and what is confidential.

Students may download the entire Student Handbook for their records and reference.
