What influenced your decision to pursue biomedical research?

My high school teachers were imperative in getting me interested in science, but I became specifically interested in biomedical research because I wanted my work to affect others in a positive way.

How is the environment at Sackler helping you achieve your professional goals?

Working with the fantastic professors and students definitely would prepare anyone for a career in academia, however I believe that Sackler has a lot to offer for those considering other careers as well. I have been attending the Graduate Student Council and Biomedical Business Club alternative career seminars geared toward people who are interested in pursuing avenues other than academia.

What type of positions are you considering after graduation?

I haven’t chosen a career path yet, however I’m seriously considering industry.

Why did you choose Sackler over other graduate schools?

When I came for my interview I saw the high caliber of students, teachers, and research being done at Sackler. This along with the very collaborative atmosphere convinced me to come.

What's your favorite way to relax after classes?

I usually get together with friends and grab dinner or drinks.

What's your favorite thing about being in Boston and why?

I love that there’s always something fun to do if you are looking. Living in a city you can always stay busy and you really have the freedom to pursue any of your interests.

What is your favorite Boston restaurant?

Boston has such an amazing collection of restaurants I can’t say I have a favorite, however I recently went to Serendipity and it was excellent and I also really like Esperia Grill in Brighton. Around Chinatown, probably a little hole in the wall called My Thai.
