The Sackler School is pleased to announce MERGE-ID, a new track within the Graduate Programs in Immunology and Molecular Microbiology. MERGE-ID (MEdically-oriented Research in Graduate Education – Infectious Disease) will provide qualified PhD students with in-depth discipline-specific training coupled to a rich set of activities that will immerse trainees in the study of the pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and epidemiology of infectious diseases. MERGE-ID students will work side-by-side with basic scientists and clinicians and have the opportunity to interact with patients and learn first-hand the potential impact of their research on human health. The first class of MERGE-ID trainees will begin their studies in the first week of July, 2010. Applicants to the program apply to either the Immunology or Molecular Microbiology Graduate Programs, and select the MERGE-ID track on the Sackler application.
