Research Synopsis

I am interested in the elucidation of perinatal risk scenarios in the context of maternal intrauterine infection and inflammatory responses of the mother, fetus, and newborn. The main outcomes I study together with colleagues in research consortia in Europe and the US are perinatal brain damage and retinopathy of prematurity. I am also very interested in theory of risk and causation.
