- When is the application deadline for the Basic Science Division?
The deadline is set each year. For September 2012 admission to Basic Science Division Programs, the deadline is December 15, 2011. All supplemental materials must be turned in by the deadline. The MD/PhD Program follows the admissions deadlines for Tufts Medical School.
- What is the deadline for Clinical & Translational Science Program applicants?
Application materials for 2012 entry into Clinical & Translational Science programs are due by December 15, 2011.
- Is the GRE required?

The GRE general test is required of all applicants except those applying for the Clinical and Translational Science Program who previously completed the MCAT and those applying to the MD/PhD program.
- What is the minimum GRE requirement?

There is no minimum GRE requirement because all factors are considered when reviewing applications.
- Is a GRE Subject Test Required?

None of the Sackler programs require a GRE subject test for admission.
- What is the minimum TOEFL requirement?
- Non-native English speaker applicants must achieve a minimum TOEFL score of 600 points on the paper exam, 250 on the electronic exam, or 100 on the internet-based exam for the TOEFL.
- Can the TOEFL Requirement be Waived?
The TOEFL requirement is waived if an applicant meets ONE of the following standards:
- completion of a degree at a US institution
- achievement of a percentile score of 50% or better on the GRE verbal
- success completion of the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates)
- Can I send you a photocopy of my GRE/TOEFL scores in the mail, by email, or fax?

No, photocopies, faxes or emailed attachments of scores are not considered official. The scores must come directly from ETS.
- Do you offer a Master's Degree program?
- The Clinical & Translational Science Program and the Surgical Anatomy Program offer a Master's Degree Programs.
- Are international students welcome in your programs?

International students are welcome and receive the same financial package as US citizens.
- How many international students are accepted each year?

The Sackler School does not set a specific number of International Students that it will admit each year, but instead weighs the applications of all applicants to select those who are the best qualified. About 25% of our students come from countries outside the United States.
- What level of financial support is provided to graduate students?
- All full-time Sackler School graduate students receive full tuition scholarships, health insurance, and monthly living stipends to cover their expenses. See more information about financing your education. In addition, Sackler students may apply for federal loans for uncovered academic and living expenses that are within the federal guidelines.
- What criteria are used to evaluate applicants?

Each applicant is considered individually; this involves many factors including academic history, research experience, recommendations, GRE scores, and TOEFL scores (international applicants only).
- Can my application fee be waived?

The application fee is required except for applicants that fall into one the groups below:
- McNair Scholars
- Project 1000
- Leadership Alliance
- PREP Scholars
- MARC Students
- IRT
- currently enrolled in a Tufts degree or certificate program (except GCAP students)
To have the application fee waived, select this option in the Preliminary Questions section and send an official document from the specific program stating the applicant is a current student or member of one of the programs listed above.
- How do I check the status of my application?
- Once your application has been submitted using the Embark online system you will receive an email from the Tufts Application Management System (TAMS). This email will provide you with a username and password to log onto TAMS. Once you receive the email from TAMS please allow up to 48 hours for your application materials to be updated.
- If I am an international student, do I have to have an interview?

While an on-site interview is not required of international students, it is always necessary to speak with Sackler program officials, and it is often desirable for an applicant to tour the facilities and meet our faculty. It should be noted that the Sackler School does not provide travel expenses for international applicants.
- Can I apply for Spring admissions?

The Sackler School does not have a Spring admissions period. New students are enrolled only in the Fall.

Basic Science Division students typically receive a full tuition
scholarship, a stipend and health insurance throughout their time as Sackler students.
