Application Fee Waivers

The application fee will be waived for applicants to PhD and MS programs who are currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Tufts University, attend an admissions event that Sackler participates in, or are currently affiliated with one of the following groups:

  • McNair Scholars
  • Project 1000
  • Leadership Alliance
  • PREP Scholars
  • MARC Scholars
  • IRT
  • BDBS
  • JAX Summer Students
  • AmeriCorps
  • Peace Corps
  • City Year
  • Teach for America
  • US Military
  • GEM

To receive this type of waiver, please select the appropriate group in the "Affiliation or Participation" question in the Application Data section of the online application, and upload a letter from the program verifying participation in the Additional Documents section.  Students who received a fee waiver from Sackler at a recruitment event should select “event attendee” and upload the fee waiver itself, with a note indicating which event.

The Sackler School also offers fee waivers based on financial hardship to applicants who are US citizens or permanent residents who are applying to a PhD program in the basic sciences, and are currently enrolled in a US college or university.

Students who are interested in requesting a fee waiver based on financial hardship should first complete and submit their online application, and then submit a letter via email to the Sackler School explaining their situation. Requests for fee waivers must be submitted no later than November 15th.

Note that hardship fee waivers are limited to one per person per application cycle, and cannot be applied to application fees which have already been paid.

Please contact us if you have additional questions.
