Leslie Mebane McClain
Department of Biological Engineering
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
TEACRS Alumna - 2013
I joined TEACRS after completing my PhD in Biology at MIT. I conducted my research under the direction of Michele Jacob, PhD in the Department of Neuroscience.
My research focused on a novel molecular pathway involving APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) that regulates the maturation and plasticity of excitatory synapses and the relationship of these pathways to autism.
As part of the TEACRS program, I taught Cell Biology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
Leslie is continuing her career as an instructor at MIT.
