TEACRS Alumna - 2014
I came to the TEACRS Program after completing my PhD in Neuroscience at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I conducted my postdoctoral research with Jamie Maguire, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience, School of Medicine.
My research examined changes in excitability within the peritumoral region which lead to enhanced seizure susceptibility in animal models of Glioblastoma Multiforme. A goal of the work was to better understand the relationship between tumor progression and epileptogenesis in order to develop better palliative care.
As a TEACRS fellow I taught Neurobiology at UMass - Boston.
I am continuing my career in the Department of Biology at Emory University where I am engaged in both research and teaching.
