Medical Science Liaison
TEACRS Alumnus - 2015
I joined the TEACRS program after completing my PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Texas - San Antonio.
As a TEACRS fellow, I worked with Chris Dulla, PhD where I focused on the regulation of astrocytic glutamate reuptake proteins in the neonatal and injured brain. Different astrocytic proteins mediate glutamate reuptake at different developmental time points. I worked to upregulate one of the important glutamate reuptake proteins in hopes of minimizing the damage to the injured neonatal brain.
As part of the TEACRS Program, I taught Cell Biology with lecture and lab at Bunker Hill Community College.
I am continuing my interest in epilepsy and brain injury in my work as a Medical Science Liaison at Lundbeck , a global pharmaceutical company focusing on brain diseases.
