I joined the TEACRS Program after completing my PhD in Food Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  As a TEACRS trainee, I conducted my research with with Jeffrey Blumberg, PhD, Professor of Nutrition, in the Antioxidants Group at the Jean Meyer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging. 

While at Tufts, my project centered on investigating age-related changes in the metabolism of health-promoting flavonoids.

As part of theTEACRS Program training, I taught an Honors Program Seminar course at UMass Boston  Food Fights: a behind the scenes examination of controversy in food science and nutrition.  

After leaving TEACRS I joined the faculty in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut. In 2014 I moved to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I am engaged in both teaching and research.
