Assistant Professor of Biolgy
TEACRS Alumna - 2010
I joined the TEACRS program after completing my PhD in Biochemistry at Wayne State U in Detroit, MI. As a TEACRS fellow, my research was conducted with Michael Forgac, PhD, Professor of Molecular Physiology & Pharmacology.
My research focused on elucidating the role of V-ATPases in tumor metastasis. I demonstrated that particular isoforms of the V-ATPase a subunit play a role in the invasiveness of highly metastatic MB231 human breast cancer cells.
As part of the TEACRS program, I taught undergraduate Biology at Bunker Hill Community College and Problem-based Learning for Tufts medical students.
As a faculty member at Denison, I am teaching Eukaryotic Cell Biology and Cell & Molecular Biology. My research program continues to center on V-ATPase structure and function.
