My research seeks to identify and characterize critical environmental signals that Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) senses and responds to during host colonization. By developing new fluorescent reporter Mtb strains and utilizing genetic approaches and in vivo infection models, I aim to understand how Mtb integrates its response to multiple environmental cues to enable its survival and growth in the host.
