As a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Translational Science Education, my research interests lie at the crossroads of science and health literacy. When biology is presented within the framework of health and diseases it becomes more engaging and creates an environment of open discussion and learning. In the world of nutrition science, knowing how the food that we eat relates to biochemical pathways is an empowering way to make informed lifestyle choices. Working with high school science educators, I am refining a nutrition based module that is being implemented in high school classrooms across the globe.
