Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that causes patients to exhibit resting tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia. Currently, little is known about the mechanism of the onset and progression of this disease. As part of the AstraZeneca-Tufts Laboratory for Basic and Translational Neuroscience, I aim to develop a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that underlie the onset and progression of Parkinson’s disease in order to further drug discovery efforts in this area.
