As a postdoctoral researcher working with the Center for Translational Science Education, I am interested in understanding how both students and instructors engage with educational interventions. More specifically, I work with the Prevalence of Antibiotics in the Environment (PARE) project, a short course-based authentic research experience program where undergraduate and high school students form partnerships to test environmental soil samples for antibiotic resistance and contribute to a national database. I work on studying the effects of the PARE project on student outcomes, as well as developing and studying the mentorship relationships between undergraduate and high school classes.
