pharm tug of war

In late spring of each year, members of the Pharmacology Program, including students, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, technical and administrative staff, travel to an off-campus location for a retreat. The retreat provides time for scientific presentations, informal conversation and social activities. An invited scientist gives a talk and participates in the discussions. Some time is also spent in outdoor activities such as bocce ball and volleyball.

Pharmacology students and program faculty also attend the annual New England Pharmacologists meeting in the early spring. This meeting is an American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) sponsored meeting primarily designed as a venue for pharmacology graduate students to present their work in both poster and oral presentations and network with other students and pharmacology programs in the New England area. The meeting occurs over 2 days – usually Friday noon to Saturday noon and is usually held at or near the parent institution of the hosting graduate program.
