My work is focused on investigating Ras-GRF1, a calcium activated Ras nucleotide exchange factor, and its role in regulating habituation to stress in mice. Previous work in the Feig lab has demonstrated an adolescent female specific response to 3-day restraint stress in our knockout model. The focus of my work is to further the understanding of the specific pathways responsible for this gender and age specific effect in short-term stress as well as habituation to this stress. We aim to discover the specific brain regions and relevant pathways responsible for both positively and negatively regulating this response.
