Quorum sensing (QS) is how bacteria communicate and exhibit synchronous group behavior. Our research examines the potential signals that feed into the QS circuit in Vibrio cholerae. We study the system architecture, gene functions, signaling pathways, and regulation that V. cholerae use for the QS response, as well as the consequences of virulence and biofilm formation.
