Healthy brain function depends on an optimal balance of excitatory and inhibitory signaling. Loss of appropriate inhibitory control can lead to seizures. I study the role of GABAergic inhibition in mouse models of epilepsy, using electrophysiology, behavioral tests, and EEG recordings. This research can provide important information for the development of new treatments for epilepsy.
I am completing the fourth year of medical school.
