The student body organizes a two-day annual retreat at a camp or
hotel in New Hampshire or on Cape Cod. Senior students typically
present their own research as well as that of other members of their
labs and other students describe their research in poster
presentations.
The main purpose of the retreat is to
allow students to meet each other informally, to discuss research and
graduate student life, and to participate in group activities. The
opportunity to discuss research in the absence of faculty members often
helps students (especially more junior students) overcome their
reluctance to speak up in journal clubs and research reports.
MERGE-ID
