Our seminar program invites speakers from laboratories around the world to interact with the students and other members of the Program. Some seminars are co-hosted by the other members of ISP.
The Seminar Speaker Schedule for 2009-2010 can be viewed by checking the Sackler School calendar; seminars are usually presented at 4PM on Tuesday. Each speaker has an informal wine and cheese session with interested students (and no faculty) after their seminar. Each year students invite and host several guest speakers.
Of particular interest is the annual Gerhardt Schmidt Memorial Lecture. Given each spring, this Lecture honors the memory of Dr. Gerhardt Schmidt, a pioneer in the biochemistry of nucleotide acid and phospholipid metabolism. Last year’s speaker was P. Roy Vagelos, former CEO of Merck and Co.
