My clinical focus is renal replacement therapies, particularly peritoneal dialysis. My research mainly focuses on the evaluation, validation, and clinical application of new biomarkers of glomerular and tubular function as well as metabolites both in terms of functional association with kidney function and their predictive value for adverse outcomes. I try to apply these markers to different fields of clinical nephrology, chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease patients as well as patients receiving renal transplants. Furthermore, I evaluate the impact of different peritoneal dialysis regimens on both patient outcomes and the peritoneum.
