I am studying the pathogenesis of liver disease in Niemann-Pick type C (NPC) mice. I am particularly interested in how the cell compensates for the deficiency of the NPC1 protein, which is responsible for this disease. These compensatory methods may suggest potential targets for therapy of NPC.
