The olfactory epithelium (OE) has the unique ability to regenerate both its epithelial and neurosensory components. Within the OE are globose basal cells (GBCs) which act as multipotent progenitors during tissue regeneration and homeostasis. I am studying the differentiation pathways of GBCs using a variety of genetic, cellular, and bioinformatic techniques.
